Paros Island is reputed for its beautiful and well organised beaches. Paros is also well known among the windsurfing professionals all over the world. The Professional Windsurfing Association has been organizing the world cup for many years now on the eastern side of the island. The location of the island, the variety of winds and the location of the beaches make Paros Island ideal place for professional and amateurs water sports lovers.
One of the Island's most famous beaches on the other side of Naoussa Bay is Kolimbithres with a beautiful view towards Naoussa. It is very special due to impressive rock formations that divide the beach into a succession of little sandy coves, which allows you, unless it is high season, to find a private spot of your own. The crystal-clear water is shallow here and ideal for families with little children. You can find some natural shade and umbrellas with deck chairs. The beach has a few Beach Bars and taverns spread out along the road where you will also find enough parking facilities. Water ski and other activities go on here in the high season.
Naoussa offers a wide choice of beaches. Monastiri this beach is also very well known and popular especially during the high season. It is at the end of the bay opposite Naoussa, about 2 km past Kolimbithres. It is a tiny bay enclosed by rocks on both sides with very shallow, pool-like water, overlooked by a tavern & music bar. A popular spot for private yachts. There is a lot going on here in the summer, including live concerts and organised beach parties. If you like it quiet, avoid this beach or look for a private, quiet spot nearby. Get there by using the frequent boat taxis from Naoussa's harbour or taking the road that leads to Kolimbithres first. Lageri Beach a very quiet, far from the road sandy beach that is difficult to be found as it is not well sign-posted. Not very busy, so good if you prefer it quiet. Can be reached easiest by boat taxi. Santa Maria Beach long coastline with sections of several long and wide sandy beaches, one of which is attached to Santa Maria Campsite. The countryside is flat here and there are small dunes and bushes in the background. You find music, food, Beach Volley, Wind Surfing (ideal because of more wind) here as well as a Diving Club. You can go there by car/motorbike or by bus. You can also take the boat taxi but it is a long ride and the boats are not scheduled so frequently, as they have to go once around the north peak of the island. Ambelas has several small & quiet beaches nearby the town. To be recommended if you are mobile or with children.
On the eastern side, Molos, at the tip of a small peninsula, is beautiful and convenient to the attractive inland villages of Marmara and Marpissa, where there are rooms to let, so it can sometimes get crowded.
Chrissi Akti (Golden Beach), it is a 700 m long sandy beach, world known for the ideal wind conditions for windsurfing. New Golden Beach is situated next to the other. It is smaller and welcomes every August since 1993 the Professional Windsurfing World Cup with many windsurfing celebrities. The beach is fully organised with windsurf rentals available in all the clubs.
